Cryotherapy
At LUNIQ, we specialize in safe, effective, and scar-free cryotherapy treatments for a wide range of benign skin lesions.
What Is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a method of delivering extreme cold to benign lesions in order to eliminate the lesions and allow the skin to grow fresh.
With the CRYOPROBE-XP liquid nitrogen is delivered in a precise method at -89°C, which effectively freezes the cells. Once the cells are frozen the membrane ruptures that causes the death of the tissue, at this point, the body sheds the dead cells and allows a slow growth of normal new skin.
The effectiveness of the CRYOPROBE-XP versus other devices that deliver nitrogen is its preciseness, both in location and in temperature. This allows deep penetration to the root of the lesion and causes less damage to the surrounding skin, thus persistent lesions such as moles, bulging lesions such as skin tags and viral lesions such as warts are permanently gone, and instead fresh skin grows.
The treatment is painless and non-surgical, no burning of the tissue is performed leaving no scars, only beautiful luminous skin.
The extended performance of the device allows timed freeze cycles and predictable depth. With interchangeable probes proficient accuracy can be achieved with minimal damage to surrounding healthy skin. The XP system is designed for medical grade lesion removal and is performed by a medical professional.
Cryotherapy destroys tissue by freezing the cells. Ice crystals form inside the cells. The cell membranes ruptures and the blood vessels collapse. There’s no oxygen delivered and an inflammatory response is activated. At this point, the dead tissues are rejected by the body and are shed. The process is slow and takes between 3 to 6 weeks, which is vital to create fresh skin. The lesions turned white in the treatment then red for the next few days for some people there might be blisters, but it is uncommon. The next phase is the scab which means the cells are completely deprived of oxygen and the body sheds the dead tissue. At this point the growth of new skin starts, the skin will be brighter since it is new but over time with exposure to weather conditions, it blends with the normal colour of your skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is cryotherapy in aesthetics?
Cryotherapy in aesthetics is a treatment that uses controlled cold temperatures to target and eliminate unwanted skin concerns such as warts, skin tags, moles, age spots, or to refresh and tighten the skin. The cooling effect can also boost circulation and stimulate collagen production for a rejuvenated appearance.
Is cryotherapy safe?
Yes, when performed by a trained professional, cryotherapy is generally safe. The treatment is non-invasive, quick, and has minimal side effects, though some clients may experience temporary redness, tingling, or sensitivity in the treated area.
How long does a session take?
Most cryotherapy aesthetic sessions take between 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas being treated. It’s often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure” because of how quick and convenient it is.
Who should avoid cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe circulatory or heart conditions, cold sensitivity disorders (like Raynaud’s disease), or open wounds in the treatment area. A consultation is advised to ensure it’s the right option for you.
When will I see results?
Results can often be noticed immediately or within a few days, depending on the treatment type. For skin lesion removal (skin tags, moles, and warts), the treated area may darken, scab, and fall off naturally in 1–2 weeks. For rejuvenation purposes, improvements in skin tone and texture may be seen gradually over several sessions.
Where are you located?
